Kickin Your Caterpillar

Description

Kickin Your Caterpillar is a card game for players of all ages where each player tries to get enough pieces to build their caterpillar all the while, using other cards to prevent their opponents from finishing their caterpillars.

The goal is to build your caterpillar by collecting and playing A Head piece, a Tail piece and four body pieces before the other players.

Components
This game deck is made up of 7 Head cards, 28 Body cards, 7 Tail cards, 20 Red attack cards, and 6 Green defense cards.

Rules
Setup Shuffle up the deck and deal each player 3 cards face down. This is their Hand. Once all the players have their Hands, put the rest of the deck

in the middle of the table. Leave some space on the side of the deck for a discard pile. The youngest player at the table takes their turn first. Play will then continue with the next player on the left and continuing clockwise around the table.

Starting The Game
Turns: A turn consists of these steps:
Step 1: Draw – Draw as many cards as you need until you reach your maximum hand size of 4 cards. If the draw pile is empty, shuffle the discard pile and it becomes the draw pile.
Step 2: Play A Card – You may play one card per turn. You can choose to slow other players down by playing Red cards such as Kick and Squish on another player, or you can work on building your caterpillar by playing a caterpillar piece face up on front of you.
Step 3: Discard – Discard as many cards as you like into the Discard pile.

Winning The Game
The first player to complete their caterpillar wins. To complete your caterpillar you need to have in play in front of you, one Head, four Body segments, and one Tail segment. If you have those six cards in play in front of you, you win.

Additional Instructions
Cocoon Shield Card If someone plays a Red card on your caterpillar such as Kick, Squish, Kiss, etc. you can play a Cocoon Shield card to ignore the effects of the Red card on your caterpillar.

As you can see the rules are pretty simple. The game is fast and fun to play for all ages. It helps teach kids early strategy, and planning. It’s also a great way to get the adults involved. For a more adult version of fun try Kickin Your Ass or it’s Drunk Edition companion.
